Thanksgiving was amazing this year. We decided to spend it with 4 other families up at Lake Yamanaka, which is at the foot of Mt. Fuji. We rented cabins for 4 nights, cooked together, made s'mores, played games till midnight, and just had an amazing time all around. Here is the whole group on the camp grounds.

Shari hard at work on the Thanksgiving feast. We had more than enough to feed the group for 3 days - we ate more in those few days than I can ever describe - or want to. My stomach is still full.

The boys looking on - the hardest job of all.

Every night there was a campfire,
s'mores, hot dogs, chips, junk food junk food junk food. Did I mention that Shari is my trainer?? Trust me, I paid for it on Monday!!

Why is fire so mesmerizing?

We could see Mt Fuji perfectly from the front of the campground so of course we had to get some great shots. Here is the boys - our favorite view of them of course!!

Me and the ladies!!

Right down on the beach were bunches of swans so the kids wanted to take bread down there to feed them.

Some weren't so nice - this one took a bite out of Shari's hand!! Check out the surprise on her face!!

But they are still beautiful creatures.

On Saturday we went to the Fuji 8 springs and walked around. Imagine my surprise when we found this shop -
definitely something I would more expect in Texas!!

This is a
tanuki - a good luck raccoon that the Japanese set out in front of their houses for protection. We have one on our front porch, of course he's about 1/100 of this size!!!

The homes in the area were just stunning. Old style, perfectly maintained, immaculate yards. Amazing!!

I loved seeing this classic Japanese home with the new Land Rover out front!!

great pics, sounds like great times, more and more pages for the memory book - you're going to run out of pages before you leave!!
